Disclaimer: Okay, what can I say at this point??? I own Nieke, Clare and Jadie…. bwahahahaha…. Okay… I really should hide away now…. I am Katie, so I guess I own myself… Wasn’t there a bunch of peeps I don’t own? They probably belong to Paramount/Viacom, for they own everything that is nice and they manage to screw it every time….
Author’s Note: I was forced to write this, so don’t blame me. It all started with Nieke. She had to write a story called “Friends”. Then Clare thought it necessary to write a sequel. Great, right? Well, not great for me, because the two of them cornered me and forced me to write as well. Bad bad girls!!!!! No Chuck dolls for you! Love you anyway!
The turbolift doors opened to reveal a small room that lead to Admiral Paris’ office. Before they had a chance to squeal out of the small cabin, a woman in her early fifties stopped them.
“One second, people,” she insisted. “What the heck is going on here?” Katie was glad she wasn’t in her direct sight. This woman surely could glance. She was as good as the legendary Captain Janeway who seemed to feel challenged. Captain Janeway caught the secretary’s eyes and started to stare her down. She didn’t seem to have any success. “Jadie, dear, it’s alright, they are with me,” Tom stepped forward.
“Tom, son, you could have warned me,” Jadie said dangerously.
“We are here to make Chakotay an honest man. He needs a ring and his baby some legally wed parents.”
“Oh,” she exclaimed. “Well, Captain Janeway, I am glad you finally got the guts to stand to this relationship. Any more hesitations and I might have claimed him.”
Cilla giggled at the thought, then howled as Nieke’s elbow found its way into her ribs. Nieke glared at her friend while Katie decided to give Cilla a thumbs-up. She liked the way Cilla had changed to the better under her influence. She was way more daring those days. Nieke shrugged and continued to concentrate onto Chakotay’s butt.
Commander Jadie shook her head and waved the group in. “Be careful with the carpet all,” she warned.
Slowly, Voyager’s former command team swarmed out of the cabin. Jadie lifted an eyebrow as people kept flowing out of it. “How did you manage to fit in there?” she asked, flabbergasted.
“Practice,” Chakotay grinned at her.
Finally, she recognized the three cadets hiding away behind a rather big tree. “Is that you? The terrible three? Cadets Katie, Nieke and Cilla? I should have known that where is trouble there is you.”
“One second,” Nieke interrupted. “Wherever trouble is there are Katie and Cilla. I am just the innocent bystander.”
“Sure Nieke, dream on,” Katie stated dryly.
“Nieke, come on, you are going to write about this, be honest. You’re going to put this all into one novel or a story, article, whatever.”
“Story?” Katie’s head peaked up. “Did I hear story? Nieke fic?”
“Sure, Katie,” Cilla assured her friend.
“Girls, could I get your attention please,” Tom spoke up. “I’d love you to be a part of the wedding and as it seems they chose you as witnesses, so get your cute butts into my dad’s office and fast. It’s time for some fun.”
They only had time to jump out of the path of one very nervous Captain Kathryn Janeway who made her way into the turbolift at top-speed.
“Where the heck do you think you’re going, Kathryn?” Chakotay yelled as he lunged after her.
“Do you seriously think I am getting married in my normal uniform, Chakotay? Shame on you. This is far too rushed for my opinion. I am getting myself a dress. NOW.” Kathryn stated.
“Girls, are you coming or not,” she added as she gestured for Nieke, Cilla and Katie to follow her.
Knowing what was good for them – at least on some occasions – they stepped into the turbolift, waiting for the doors to close. “Commander, I don’t have all day. I have a husband-to-be that will die a heart attack if I don’t hurry, so I suggest, you get your butt into this cabin now.”
“Careful, ma’am, I am older than you. You can as well show some respect.”
“Sure, now come on and hurry.”
Jadie let herself fall onto the Captain’s bed. This was taking far too long already. Soon enough Katie slumped down next to her, sighing deeply. “If Chakotay is as nervous as I think he is, he didn’t survive the past three hours.” Jadie stated, worried.
“Do you still want him for yourself?”
“Not really. He’s the Captain’s. And I would have to get in line with all the pretty cadets and officers who want him as well.”
Katie, Cilla and Nieke sighed simultaneously.
“You girls scare me,” Jadie stated, shaking her head.
“You love us nevertheless, mommy,” Cilla teased.
“That I do,” Jadie admitted.
That moment Kathryn decided to burst into the room.
“Got it. The perfect dress,” she grinned.
“No kidding,” Nieke mouthed, exhaustedly, never opening her eyes.
Kathryn whirled in front of them.
“Is it okay?” She asked.
“It’s perfect,” they managed to get out while they stared at Kathryn in disbelief.
The dress was coloured in a dark shade of blue, It made her hair shimmer even more than it usually did. She had left it open, falling onto her bare shoulders and back in light waves. Her eyes glimmered with excitement and nervousness. A tiny tattoo graced her right ankle. The little rose was the only jewelry Kathryn wore.
The girls had never known Kathryn was into this. But given the fact her fiancée wore his tribal sign on his forehead they could have guessed it.
“You ready, girls?” Kathryn inquired.
“Yeah,” they stated as they struggled to keep up with the bride who strode out of the room and into the world in no time.
They were about to witness the marriage of the most famous couple in Starfleet history.
The four of them were certain this would be a great dream to wake up from. For now they were glad they were still sleeping deeply. They wouldn’t want to miss the wedding for anything.
